ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Laverne Robilliard will be presenting to you on Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive form of brain tumor that evades the immune system.

Laverne is a PhD student based at the Center for the Brain Research at the University of Auckland. She received a W&B Miller Postgraduate Scholarship from the Neurological Foundation in 2017 to carry out her work on GBM.

GBM is currently an incurable brain tumour that is highly aggressive. For successful treatment, understanding how these tumours ingeniously re-program our own immune systems against us is key.
