In addition to funding research and education, the Neurological Foundation also works to raise public awareness for neurological conditions by funding publications and hosting public events throughout New Zealand.
Through education and raising awareness of these disorders, New Zealanders can understand the importance of funding research into finding preventative measures, treatments and cures. In March each year we host Brain Awareness Month and hold events throughout New Zealand where you can hear from neurologists and neuroscientists about exciting advances in neuroscience.
You can watch talks from researchers who we have funded about what they’ve been working on and what they have discovered. We record our talks from around New Zealand so you are able to hear them regardless of where you are based.
The Neurological Foundation’s focus is to raise funds to support research and the on-going education of the next generation of neuroscientists and neurologists. If you are looking for more information about neurological conditions and support we have put together a selection of the most common neurological conditions, their symptoms, and support organisations.
We share details about research, our researchers and events in our publication, Headlines. Our quarterly editions are sent to our members and you can view our past editions online.
