Don't miss this opportunity to hear Associate Professor Caroline Beck from the University of Otago in Dunedin. In this session, Professor Beck will share her pioneering research aimed at uncovering commonalities across Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE) gene mutations. Her work focuses on developing new pre-clinical models to better understand the causes of these devastating, early-onset seizure disorders, which remain largely untreatable.

About the speaker

Associate Professor Caroline Beck has been a two-time recipient of the prestigious Neurological Foundation Project Grant, awarded in both 2021 and 2023. Her research, deeply rooted in her personal experience as a parent of a child with epilepsy, focuses on identifying the critical points in brain development that lead to DEE. This personal connection fuels her passion and dedication to finding answers for those affected by these challenging conditions.
