How funding is spent

The Foundation's sole focus is to work towards the treatment, management and prevention of neurological conditions by funding research and education. The funds that have been committed to research over the last 5 years currently total over $14 million.

The Foundation also funds long term clinical and research programs such as the Neurological Foundation Human Brain Bank at the Centre for Brain Research and the Chair of Clinical Neurology.

Like all charities, the Foundation has running costs which means we’re not able to spend every dollar we raise on research. However, we’re proud that a recent audit showed that our administration costs made up only 20% of our total expenditure with the bulk of our spending going into research, education, major events and fellowships that continue to grow our understanding of neurological conditions.
