Stems Cells 

Cells that can grow into heart cells, kidney cells, or other cells of the body. Originally thought to be found only in embryos, stem cells have unexpectedly been discovered in the brains of adults.

Researchers have shown on animal models that stem cells can be transplanted into various regions of the brain, where they develop into both neurons and glia.
