What You Can Do

The Neurological Foundation is incredibly grateful to our members and other supporters.  Your generosity and continued commitment to invest in neurological research has seen research funding by the Neurological Foundation grow to over $2 million per year in 2010 and 2011.

98% of Neurological Foundation funds come from individual donations and bequests, and 100% of these donations are committed to fund internationally peer-reviewed neurological research and talented New Zealand neuroscientists and clinicians.
There are many ways you can help us continue to invest in world-class neurological research in New Zealand, including:

  • How your support helps

The Neurological Foundation is an independent body and charitable trust that raises funds to ensure New Zealand’s top neuroscientists and clinicians can continue leading-edge research into neurological disorders.

  • Your donation to fund neurological research gives hope to thousands of New Zealanders living with a neurological disorder or disease.

  • Membership of the Neurological Foundation is open to anyone who supports our objective of alleviating suffering from diseases and disorders of the brain and nervous system through research and education.

  • We are proud to acknowledge the long-term commitment of the Neurological Foundation’s Life Members:

  • By leaving a gift in your will, you are giving hope to the hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders whose lives are affected by neurological disorders or disease. Only through innovative, high quality research can we facilitate discoveries today that will become treatments, or cures, tomorrow...

  • Fundraising for the Neurological Foundation is a fun and practical way to grow donations for the Foundation while also raising awareness of the importance of scientific research for finding treatments and cures for neurological diseases and conditions.

  • Raising the public’s awareness of neurological conditions, the devastating effect they have on sufferers, families and friends is an important part of the Neurological Foundation’s work. It is through education and raising awareness of these disorders that New Zealanders will come to understand...

  • The Neurological Foundation would like to thank MITRE 10 for the company’s long and unwavering support.

  • A more generous tax treatment for charitable donations came into effect in April 2008. Now both individuals and companies can benefit from a 33.33% rebate on all donations to the Neurological Foundation and other registered charitable organisations, up to the total value of taxable income.
